She has always been passionate about business and entrepreneurship and has used her education to further her career. She started her career as an intern at a top-rated company and worked her way up the corporate ladder through hard work and dedication.
In the late 2010s, while attending college in New York, Emma Turner crossed paths with Andrew Schulz and the two of them began dating. They were in a relationship for a few years until Andrew proposed to Emma in 2021.
The unlikely pairing of Emma Turner and Andrew Schulz has left many wondering how they met. Despite this mystery, the couple has become a staple in New York City’s vibrant culinary community. Emma’s blog showcases her playful sense of humor, which differs from her husband’s infamous shock jock persona. Interestingly, Emma managed to overhaul Andrew’s eating habits, steering him away from junk food and subpar sushi. However, even her culinary prowess couldn’t keep these indulgences away from their California wedding.
Love bloomed on February 14, 1995, when Kristin Turner welcomed her bundle of joy, Emma Kathryn Turner, into the world with her race car driver husband, Quentin. Raised in the sun-kissed haven of Santa Barbara alongside her two brothers – Derek a West Point graduate and Will a rugby enthusiast from New Zealand – Emma was blessed with an abundance of love and opportunity.
The Valentine’s baby attended the Professional Children’s School in New York City, where she flourished and graduated cum laude from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University with a Bachelor of Arts focused on writing, literature, and fashion business.
Kristin owns La Playa Pilates – a fitness and wellness studio based in Santa Barbara – where she imparts the knowledge she received from three of Joseph Pilates’ protégées. Kristin cherishes every moment spent with her daughter; as their love for one another continues to grow each day.
In 2022, Emma was bestowed the honor of receiving her MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. She had a multifaceted journey during her tertiary studies, taking on internships at Marie Claire, BALENCIAGA, and Penguin Random House. She also held permanent roles while continuing to ascend the fashion industry’s hierarchy – starting as an associate buyer at Barneys New York, followed by an account executive at Saturdays NYC, and eventually serving for a year as a senior account executive at Re/done.
Finally, in October 2022, Apple offered her a position in AI and Machine Learning – an opportunity she gladly accepted. A New Yorker of the third generation to qualify as a Pilates instructor, Emma chose not to pursue her BASI Pilates certification professionally.
Emma Turner’s love of food and her mother’s gifted cooking lessons have led to the spectacular success of Blistered Peppers, her foodie blog that has garnered a passionate following of 31.5K since its launch in September 2021. She cherishes memories of her first fine-dining experience with her mom and stepdad at Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas, and she hopes that through her blog, she can impart her skill and passion so that no one ever has to endure a bad meal.
When she met Schulz, he ate only one meal daily, usually from a local diner or questionable sushi restaurant. Little did he know that his third date with the NYU grad would end in food poisoning from his beloved sushi joint.
Andrew Schulz’s proposal to Emma didn’t quite go according to plan, but it ended up being a hilarious and unforgettable moment. Despite his usual way with words, he stumbled over his proposal speech and ended up saying “lest” instead of “rest” and “rife” instead of “life.” Luckily, Emma was able to see past the mistake and said yes to his proposal in October 2020.
Andrew shared the full story on his podcast, Flagrant 2, with Akaash Singh. He had been practicing his speech on his phone at the restaurant, but Emma didn’t know that and told him to get off his phone. Even though he messed up his line, Emma doesn’t remember it because she blacked out at the moment. They went on to celebrate at a hotel, where Andrew had arranged for a friend to take care of their dogs so that Emma could enjoy the evening without any worries. Overall, it was a funny and romantic proposal story that they’ll both remember for years to come.
The culinary offerings perfectly matched their palates; starting with delicate sushi from a Michelin-star chef, followed by In N Out for the mains. Kirstin later posted a photo of Emma savoring her burger in her shimmering satin after-party dress, and also shared an amusing video of her sweeping up the luxury estate on the day after.
The guest list included famed personalities such as Charlamagne Tha God and Joe Rogan. A week later, Schulz joked that Harry and Meghan had been dethroned as having the top Instagram image in their area of residence.
The couple now live in New York with Emma’s pet dog.
