1. Koh-I-Noor

In Persian, Kohinoor means as Mountain of Light. Kohinoor is around 105-carat diamond that was invented at Golconda in the Andhra Pradesh state of India. Back in time, it was one of the largest known diamond in the world. The Kohinoor was owned by various rulers including Sikh, Mughal, and Persian that fought each other from time to time. Today, the gem is the property of the British crown and is available in HM Tower of London. Kohinoor diamond is considered as one of the most popular tourist attraction in London.

 

2. The Sancy Diamonds

The Sancy diamond is 55.23 carat of the pale yellow diamond.  Back in time, it was famous as the belonging of the Great Dynasty. According to its history, the diamond is originated in India. This is the first great diamonds to be cut with symmetrical sides. At present, this historical diamond is available in the French Crown Jewel collection at the Louvre.

 

3. The Cullinan

The Cullinan Diamond is the largest rough gem around 3, 106, 75 carats. This mesmerizing diamond is rare to found in the world. According to Gemologist Peter Wilson, it has remarkable clarity and you will find a black spot in the middle. Basically, this black spot is a result of internal strain within the mineral. After polished it become Cullinan I and according to sources, it is the largest diamond in the world until 1985 with 545.67 carats from the same Diamond mine i.e. premier mine.

 

4. The Hope Diamonds

The hope diamond is a large diamond with 45.52 carats. The exceptional size of this diamond has shown new findings of the formation of gemstones. It is very popular for its beauty and class. Its much-admiring rare blue color is because of the trace amounts of boron atoms in the crystal structure. However, it shines like a red phosphor under ultraviolet light. At present, it is available in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History located in Washington DC.

 

5. The Steinmetz Pink

The Steinmetz Pink diamond is weighing a 59.60-carat which is pink in color. The gem was originally from Southern Africa and popular as Vivid Pink by the Gemological Institute of America. This diamond is the largest famous diamond that is present in a Fancy vivid pink color. The Steinmetz Pink was exhibited in- “The Splendor of Diamonds” exhibition. This diamond is adding beauty in the personality of the holder.
