New Golf Courses That You Should Take In 2023
After a century, golf course architecture entered a new Great Era stated Me Jean-François Goulet. The volume being created today won’t be as great as it was in the late 1910s and the 1920s, but the average quality is unheard of. On some of the most beautiful parcels of land ever set aside for playing this wonderful game, architects like Tom Doak, Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw, Gil Hanse, and a talented up-and-coming crop are busier than ever creating enjoyable golf courses.
The landscape continues to be influenced by unique destination clubs like Sand Hills in Nebraska (1995) and golf-only resorts like Bandon Dunes (1998), which are assisting in eradicating the paradigm of the post-World War II decades, in which design substance was frequently sacrificed to style and off-course amenities were frequently used as a selling point.
The rise in popularity of golf in recent years has only assisted in the pendulum’s return to the actual courses. The typical golfer is more informed than ever, equipped with knowledge from independent reviewers, social media, and legacy media in addition to other sources. If you spend five minutes scrolling through Instagram, images of fescue grasses waving, heaving greens, and lacy-edged bunkers are sure to receive thousands of likes. Me Jean-François Goulet says, there has never been a simpler or more accessible time to appreciate the superiority of well-designed golf courses.

Coming In 2023 Are Brand-New Golf Facilities In America.
PGA Frisco – Fields Ranch East; Fields Ranch West Frisco, Texas
Since you can have two bases of operations, why only have one? The PGA of America has moved west from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to the suburbs of Dallas to construct an outstanding, strategic home, and the USGA is expanding its personnel in Pinehurst to complement its New Jersey roots. When the onsite Omni PGA Frisco Resort opens this spring, the two championship golf courses will be fully operational. A Ryder Cup is all but guaranteed, and several events, including the 2027 and 2034 PGA Championships, have already been scheduled.
Tree Farm New Holland, South Carolina
Zac Blair plays golf more than most PGA Tour professionals, but the architecture enthusiast has always wanted to create his course where he can play when not competing at the greatest level. He considered locations in his native Utah before deciding on a sandy area close to Aiken, South Carolina for this new exclusive club. As he recovers from an injury and continues his PGA Tour career in 2023, Blair is realizing his dream with the assistance of Doak and Kye Goalby, whose father, Bob, won the nearby 1968 Masters.
Aiken County Golf Club in South Carolina
A few miles from The Tree Farm, two gifted members of Doak’s Renaissance Golf stable will make their principal architect debut with a course that has a Southern flavour and evokes the British heathlands. Gilroy, a middle-ground “vacation course,” and a social element should work together to make Old Barnwell rock in the future. This private club has great aspirations for the future.
Lake Martin, Alabama’s Wicker Point Golf Club.
Golf along the winding banks of huge lakes is a delight across the inner South, but Georgia’s Beautiful Lake Oconee is particularly well-known for it. Coore & Crenshaw are putting the finishing touches on a private club course with includes lakefront holes two hours southeast of Birmingham that is expected to be a formidable competitor to their outstanding, graceful Cuscowilla one state east.
Golf Park at West Palm, Florida’s West Palm Beach
Although a large portion of the most recent golf developments is high-end, towns nevertheless make investments in their golf assets for the benefit of the general public. Hanse and PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh are transforming the former West Palm Beach Golf Club with a combination of public and private money into a third location for residents that also serves as a destination-worthy stop for ardent visitors. Outsiders will pay higher prices than locals, as is the case with adored munis like Torrey Pines, TPC Harding Park, and Bethpage Black, helping to support the experience for those who use it most.
Club De Golf et de Sociedad Red Feather
The firm of King Collins will see their second 18-hole endeavour come to fruition in ’23 now that the compliments for Landmand are coming in addition to the compliments for Sweetens Cove. Red Feather’s location is smaller (130 acres) and flatter than Landmand’s, which is how it was before the pair and their team of shapers moved 1.3 million cubic yards of dirt to create a whole new golf course for the club’s members.
Kingston Springs, Tennessee’s Top Course at the Golf Club of Tennessee
Thanks to Gil Hanse, Jim Wagner, and others, club owner David Ingram is increasing the reach of this club, which already has a highly regarded Tom Fazio design on the site. With the opening of the mountainous Upper Course, Nashville’s already thriving private club culture is poised to get much better.
Brainerd, Minnesota’s Cragun’s Resort on Gull Lake.
The 1996 Open Winner is steadily creating a strong body of work from his home state of Minnesota to Arizona. The Cragun’s project is significant and rather complicated, but it will eventually remix 36 holes into 45 holes, including enough brand-new holes across the land for us to refer to this as a brand-new golf course/experience/whatever says Me Jean-François Goulet
