While most people enjoy smashing battle games, others lay back with the most relaxing game app for Android and iOS. These days, several home design and decorating games are increasingly catching everyone’s attention. We’ll name some of them in a bit. These games may differ in some features but they all arrive at one common goal: home improvement.

Aside from they’re free and available offline, I think the best thing that people love about these games is the test of creativity that brings out the interior designer in them. This way allows the players to live the life of project home builders and interior designers even on mobile phones only. Designing on their own helps them create ideas in mind and soon turn them into reality. Well, who knows?

For those whose fascination with home improvement never stopped, we compile the best home design and decorating games every architecture nerd will love.

Design Home

Design Home

First on the list is the Editor’s Choice with more than half a million reviews in Google Play, make way for Design Home. Every day has challenges to take. Players can choose from a wide variety of settings. So the challenge is how you style a certain room based on the given blueprint.

For example, there’s a task that will ask the player to style a coastal room, dining in Santa Monica, or a living field of yellow. Basically, the output depends on the given scenario. But with access to thousands of real, high-end furniture and decor brands, building a stunning project won’t be a problem. It’s just that you have to purchase each item with money or diamonds.

Another exciting part is that players are allowed to submit their designs and connect with a creative community where they can compete and fight for ratings. Players have the chance to win prizes if they reach the 5-star rate.

Home Design Makeover

Home Design Makeover

The next game is not much heard or played but I have to recommend this myself because it’s a real exciting game. Compared to the previous game, Home Design Makeover offers a different challenge. Players will design rooms for their clients and transform dab into fab places. But to do so, they have to play 3 puzzle games to unlock and purchase items.

The game provides a blueprint to guide the players but they can choose whether to decorate in a farm-house or modern style. This way allows the players to decide and design on their own without having to rate their work with scores. Only that it provides limited options for furniture and decors.

Home Street – Home Design Game

Home Street – Home Design Game

This game has so much to offer. It looks a lot like The Sims Social we used to play. Home Design Makeover lets you decorate and extend your own house with several amenities like a luxury bathtub or a big-screen TV. This game allows the players to live their perfect life in a perfect town with a perfect home.

What makes it more fun is the feature that lets players design their own character and customize their physical features and clothes, be who they want to be – a musician, a baker, or an artist and earn rewards from it, and of course make new friends along the neighborhood just like The Sims.

Matchington Mansion

Matchington Mansion

From the name itself, the rule of this game is to play a 3-level matching figure game to unlock rooms and earn stars to purchase decorative items. The same thing that goes with Home Design Makeover, only that it offers more features that allow the players to join in different events and win prizes like boosters and extra lives.

Players can also follow the game’s secretive and intriguing storyline, meet different characters, and unlock secret rooms. To summarize the game’s narrative, the player inherits the mansion from a good friend who was once a great novelist. The player’s task is to renovate the old mansion and protect the property from the villainy cousin of the real owner.

Home Designer – Dream House Hidden Object

Home Designer – Dream House Hidden Object

We save the last spot for another game that offers a little twist. If the earlier games are meant to play matching puzzles to unlock rooms and decors, this game combines the challenge of home design and hidden object. (Hidden object games have recently been so popular. Remember Mystery Society and Gardens of Time?)

The game offers life-like designs of furniture that you can start bringing them to your actual home. In the game’s narrative, Hazel helps her aunt to refurbish the house and sell old items in place of modern ones.
